Alexis Macnab trained with Nusha Martinuk at Oberlin College and performed in Grave Blessings/Remember It Happens Quietly in the faculty dance concert. While at Oberlin she performed extensively with choreographer Juliana F. May. Macnab choreographed her own dance-theater show, Night Fractal, at Oberlin, and revised and remounted the piece in Chicago in 2003. In New York, she performed with MayDance in The Faker at the Merce Cunningham Studio in November 2003. She danced in Two by Two at Triskelion Arts, Just Desserts at BAX Space, and with the experimental dance-theater company Laboratory Theater in E.R. Rendezvous, Coming Forth by Day, and Magic Monkey Dance Company. In April 2008, she performed the solo piece Proof at Judson Church, choreographed by Ali Kenner.
